If you’ve achieved a modification in an order of protection, or you were able to argue in Family Court for an order that included visitation with your kids, it may specify that pick up and drop off happen at a public location.
Some families even choose a police precinct as a safe spot where kids may be transferred.
Be sure to read and understand the terms of the order very clearly.
You may be in violation of the order if you go to the house where your kids live, or even if you call at an unapproved time to talk to them or their other parent.
But keep insisting on your visitation rights, and adhere to your visitation schedule. It’s best for your kids, but it’s also best for your future ability to be a parent to them.
